Meet Mother Goose a.k.a. Marjorie Shaefer


Marjorie Shaefer Performs as Mother Goose.

She can be found in June at the Festival of the Arts in Detroit and in August at the Wild Blueberry Festival in Paradise. She has appeared in numerous festivals, including the multi-ethnic festival in Ann Arbor, and the Yale Bologna Festival in 1997.

Marjorie has been telling stories in schools and libraries for over twenty-five years and was one of three founders of the “Mother Goose Gaggle”, a convention of Mother’s Goose from across the country.

“Simply Mother Goose”

Delightful program of rhymes, fables and fairy tales told in costume as Mother Goose, with her puppet goose named “Canada”, for early elementary grades, libraries and pre-schools.

She engages the children using a call and response format with rhymes and using figures from her collection of Mother Goose items. “Political Personages who Primed the Rhymes” - Rhymes plus a historical “who’s who” – fun for any inter-generational group – festivals, fairs, family gatherings & senior citizen events.
